Musculoskeletal disorders\/injury account for between 20% and 40% of sickness absence, yet sickness absence can be significantly reduced or avoided with early intervention and objective assessment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Heales provides a variety of musculoskeletal assessment and treatment services according to the injury\/disorder, location and employee preference for treatment. Cases can be easily referred online, by telephone, e-mail, fax or post and appointments offered within 5 days or earlier for emergencies. Employers are notified of assessment outcome, treatment advised and post-treatment outcomes according to both clinician and employee. The employee’s GP (with consent) is also notified of treatment and outcome.<\/span><\/p>\n

Health is a combination of factors – physical, psychological and social. There is no ‘one size fits all approach’ and, on occasion, a mix of interventions is required to achieve long-term success. That is why we offer a range of counselling, psychotherapy, physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, etc. A service which only offers a single treatment pathway is unlikely to be successful.<\/span><\/p>\n

Heales Medical have long promoted the delivery of robust objective assessments in Occupational Health and have extended this to include a full Musculoskeletal Assessment Service using advanced JTech assessment equipment based on objective evidence for quantitative evaluation undertaken by specially trained physiotherapists. This service can be provided off-site to assess an employee’s functional capacity or on-site to assess the physical requirements of a job in-situ and the employee’s capacity to do the job. In complex cases or cases where there is uncertainty in actual injury or capacity this service provides quantitative support to the assessment of an employee’s capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n
